The Pocono Prayer Breakfast warmly invites you to celebrate its 30th Anniversary on October 7, 2025, at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center.
For nearly three decades, this event has been a source of inspiration and community, bringing together over 1,000 attendees in 2024 alone. "We're truly humbled to mark this milestone. For the past 30 years, the Pocono Prayer Breakfast has united thousands of community and business leaders in heartfelt prayer for our government, businesses, healthcare, education, faith communities, residents, and families," said Charlie Trapasso, Director of the Pocono Prayer Breakfast.
What sets this gathering apart is its inclusivity. Attendees represent a tapestry of faiths, with many joining us without any particular religious affiliation. This is not a political event, nor does any religious organization support it; this non-profit gathering highlights the values that unite us as Americans, centered around God, Country, and community. More importantly, it is NOT a fundraiser, and marketing or promotional material is prohibited, creating a space focused solely on the community coming together as one in prayer.
Attendees can look forward to uplifting messages from featured speakers who share their personal journeys and transformative experiences. Each year, the Stroudsburg High School band honors our veterans with a military salute, and students from Faith Christian School bring joy to the morning with a special performance.
We are excited to continue this beloved tradition, gathering in our shared faith and commitment to our country while spreading the message of hope found in Jesus Christ. Your prayers and support are the heart of this event, and we look forward to sharing this extraordinary morning with you.
In Him,
Charlie Lynn Trapasso

Some years ago a friend gave me a tape (CD) of a Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast held in Dallas,
Texas. I thought wouldn’t it be nice to have one in Monroe County, PA. Our Country seemed to
be drifting away from its Founders dream of “One Nation Under God”. The purpose would be
simple, have a breakfast for the purpose of praying for your community and country and have a
lay person share their life story of how they came to a personal relationship with God and how it changed their life.
I shared the idea with some friends and one in particular gave me encouragement and advice, go first class, start on time and end on time, don’t try to sell any books or tapes. The Speaker should be a well known man or woman who can share how a relationship with God changed their life. Monroe County is not the Bible Belt so I thought the goal should be 50 people for the first Annual Breakfast. I spoke with the owner of a well know venue, but he said I would have to
guarantee 100 for a 6 A.M. breakfast..
Monroe County has 4 Boroughs, each with a Mayor. So to keep it simple I chose Leadership
Prayer Breakfast.
Much to everyone’s surprise 240 people bought tickets. The room held 200 so the Owner
suggested next year find a larger venue. Camelback Ski Lodge held 480 and said they would
only do a breakfast if we guaranteed 480 people and that’s how many came to the 2nd Annual
breakfast. The 3rd year and following it grew to 600. The expenses far exceeded the revenue for
the cost of the breakfast ticket. We never asked for donations or passed a hat, but God moved in
people sensing the need and each year the money was always there to pay all the bills and end in the black.
Many people have shared how they began or renewed a relationship with Jesus through attending the breakfast and the Speaker’s message. Everyone from any background is welcome, Business People, Tradesmen, Doctors, Lawyers, School Board Members, Township Supervisors, Senators, Congressmen, even the Governor of PA often attended. We keep it simple, started and ended on time, gave each person a small Bible and always used a Layperson as Speaker. My goal was to direct the breakfast for 5 years and then turn it over to a younger person. But 5 turned into 25 years and Mrs. Trapasso has taken the leadership of this meaningful event. My wife, Paula, and I are so thankful the miracle will continue.
